Here again, it is a lamp that is in the museum more for its look, as it's not a theatre light.
It's a train lantern.
The fresnel lens have its smooth face outward, this configuration is probably to avoid the lens to build up dirt and debris too quickly as this unit is design for an outside use. This is a guess, afterward, I saw some pictures of similar lamps but with a secondary coloured lens (red) on top of the fresnel one.
An other finding on the web: it seems that this lamp use to be powered by a battery (4V?). The lamp bulb was mounted directly on the back of the lens, on the front door. I think it was an episcope lamp (BA15d?).
