This is a very old 2kW PC made by Adrien De Backer (the founder of ADB).
I would like to thank Roland (Rivage s.p.r.l.) for the donation of this lantern.
The construction is based on metal sheets assembled by spot welding.
There is a few interesting elements on this lamp: there is a small blue window on the side. I guess it was used to monitor the lamp bulb during operation, and also to check the reflector adjustment.
The main connector is a "TV plug", a specially design connector for ADB. Unfortunately the connector was modified before I acquired this lamp.
An other interesting point is the reflector. It was mounted on a support that was moved with a rod at the back of the unit to adjust the position of the reflector depending on the focus setting of the lamp. The reflector is missing, It was probably a glass mirror. The support have a 200mm diameter.
The focussing mechanism is also very interesting: the lamp holder slides in a guiding rail, followed by folded shutters to prevent light leakage. A very nice work.
It seems the front part is missing. The lens is also missing.
